From CS Engineering to Design - how did we get here?
Twenty-one years young, and one decision completely reshaped my journey — from an engineering student to a designer working across branding, marketing, motion, and product design for startups, student organizations, and international clients.
Twenty-one years young, and one decision completely reshaped my journey — from an engineering student to a designer working across branding, marketing, motion, and product design for startups, student organizations, and international clients.
Growing up, I always wanted to follow in my dad's footsteps. He worked in computer science, and I was fascinated by everything that came with it. The office, the technology, and the way he could effortlessly navigate it all. Watching him type at what felt like impossible speeds convinced me that computer science was what I wanted to do too. That fascination followed me into college, where I enrolled as a Computer Science student.
But once I got there, I realized something wasn't clicking. While I appreciated the logic and problem-solving behind programming, I couldn't find myself genuinely excited by spending hours writing code. It felt like I was following a path I had chosen years ago without ever stopping to ask whether it was actually mine. Then, by pure coincidence, a college society asked me to design a social media post, and for the first time in college, something just felt right.
The funny thing is that design had always been there. Long before I knew what branding, typography, or UX meant, I was paying attention to the way things looked and how those choices shaped people's perceptions. I found myself noticing details others would overlook. A product package on a shelf, the layout of a store, a movie poster, a logo, or an advertisement on the side of the road. I was fascinated by how the exact same thing could feel completely different depending on how it was presented.
What began as a single social media post quickly became an obsession. I spent countless hours teaching myself design, taking on projects, seeking feedback, and experimenting with anything I could get my hands on. The feeling reminded me of when I first sat behind a drum kit. After years of trying different instruments, I picked up a pair of drumsticks and instantly knew I had found the one. Design felt exactly the same.
Since then, I've worked across branding, marketing, motion, and product design with startups, student organizations, and international clients. I've built conference identities from the ground up, directed creative campaigns for American businesses, designed experiences for thousands of delegates through NSUTMUN, and explored everything from social content and motion graphics to product thinking and digital experiences.
Whether I'm designing a campaign, building a brand system, or crafting a product experience, I'm drawn to the same question: how do people perceive this? Design, to me, has never been about decoration. It's about communication, perception, and creating experiences that people connect with. The titles have changed over the years, but the work has always been the same — understanding people and designing with intention.
Design with Intent. Design with Purpose
